ADB Signs $ 500 million Loan for Climate, Disaster Risk Reduction

A technical assistance grant of $1 million would help support enforcement of the program.

ISLAMABAD (Newsman): Newly appointed ADB Country Director Emma Fan and Secretary EAD Kazim Niaz signed on 18 November a $ 500 million policy-based loan to support climate variation and disaster risk lesening and resilience in Pakistan.

The Climate and Disaster Resilience Enhancement Program would make stronger Pakistan’s institutional capacity for planning, response and preparedness and enhance inclusive investment in disaster risk cutting and climate resilience.

It would also support the scale-up of disaster risk funding using a risk-layered method.
