These images were shared by Honourable Zarar, eldest son of my friend Capt. Salim Fida, who faced many adversaries as a family including devastation by floods, being living on the bank of river Kabul at Nowshera in KPe.
These cute babies are Afghan refugees on whom the world imposed extreme poverty on one or another excuse as there was no need from the British to have toppled Ghazi Aman Ullah Khan whose only crime was to educate and modernise his nation.
It gives me a heart burn to hear the hypocritical statements from the world’s leaders condemning the present reactionary regime of Taliban for human rights violations including denial of education to women when the resources rich Afghanistan was the first country in the region to embark on its quest for modernisation until stopped in its tracks.
These innocent Afghan girls live in the vicinity of my friend’s house and study at the Aisha Academy is funded school by FRDP, A UK based International Charity Organization
I am told the spirit behind this initiative for the local Afghan children is one Honourable Waqar Ahmed who, is a lawyer by profession but a philanthropist by heart, who understands how the Afghans as refugees face discrimination everywhere in the society, once they were forced to flee their country from the Jaws of death and destruction the foriegn powers imposed on them.
Good luck to Waqar Ahmed, his team and their donors who at least are doing some good, when most look the other way when ordinary Afghans face the worst food insecurity being still under International economic embargo for their singular crime of having won their freedom singlehandedly versus the entire so – called developed world who failed to defeat their freedom loving spirit.
