China, Pakistan Pledge Stronger Cooperation on Key Economic and Security Issues

ISLAMABAD, October 14,2024: Islamabad and Beijing have expressed strong satisfaction with the growing Pakistan-China strategic cooperative partnership, based on mutual trust and shared principles.
The agreement was reached during a delegation-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Islamabad on Monday.

 

The two leaders highlighted that the bilateral partnership is strengthening day by day. They held discussions on a wide range of issues, including bilateral relations, regional matters, and global concerns of mutual interest.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), stressing the importance of timely completion of ongoing projects in sectors such as industry, agriculture, information technology, and science and technology.
These projects are seen as vital for Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

 

Prime Minister Sharif assured Premier Li of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Chinese nationals and projects operating in Pakistan.
The leaders also agreed to continue high-level exchanges and expand cooperation in all areas of bilateral interest.
They discussed strategies to boost Chinese investment in Pakistan and explore the relocation of Chinese industries to the country.

 

Additionally, both sides pledged to maintain close consultations at multilateral forums and work together on regional and global issues of significance.
