ISLAMABAD, November 2, 2024: Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has scheduled the inaugural meeting of the newly restructured Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) for November 5.
The agenda will focus on the nomination of judges for constitutional benches in the Supreme Court.
This meeting follows recent nominations by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, who proposed four parliamentarians, including one woman, to join the JCP, expanding its membership to five new members. These nominations have been forwarded to the Supreme Judicial Commission (SJC) through a formal letter.
