Country should go to elections by Nov : Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: The coalition government has hinted at early polls in the country . On Saturday , former Finance minister and Pakistan Mzuslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader, Ishaq Dar, told an anchor of a private TV on Skype from London that the current coalition government has not come in for one and half years duration. He added that the general elections should be held in Pakistan by November this year.
“We are not for one and half years and after having said this the country should go for fresh general elections by October this year” Ishaq Dar said
Mr Dar’s statement to the media is in total contrast to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz ( PMLN) previous position. PMLN, which is leading the current coalition government in the centre, had been claiming off and on that Imran Khan’s demand for new elections was not worth considering and that the next general elections will be held in 2023 as per their original plan. Federal Information minister , Maryam Aurangzeb , has been on the record in saying that the new government will complete the remaining term and hold elections in sometimes in May 2023. So was Interior minister, Rana Sana Ullah , saying pubically . In response to Shaikh Rashid Ahmad’s demand of announcing the fresh elections in the country, Rana Sanaullah last week told him that it was not he , but the government to decide the election date .
But sudden change in the PMLN ranks is a clear indication that the current coalition government has second thoughts on the issue of fresh elections .
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) is already on the streets to pressurise the government for fresh elections in the country.
