Criminal syndicate threatens NFC IEFR Faisalabad survival; detail of illigtimate appointments exposed

Harassment , corruption , bribery plague institution as prominent names surface in dirty game

FAISALABAD : May 17, 2023: The NFC Institute of Engineering and Fertilizer Research (NFC IEFR), Faisalabad, a project worth trillions of rupee, finds itself in the clutches of a criminal syndicate that is actively working to dismantle the institution.

The syndicate, led by Dr. Najaf Ali (Director NFC), Shabeeb Ahmed (Head of Admin & Personal), and Adeel Safdar (self-proclaimed Deputy Registrar), is responsible for the ongoing degradation of the institute.

The recent revelations highlight the volume of corruption of this syndicate and expose a list of individuals who secured illegitimate appointments through bribes.

At the heart of this syndicate is Adeel Safdar, a man with a checkered past and a bad reputation. Not only his educational background is dubious but also involved in multiple criminal cases including murder. He has hurled life threats to some facility members and staff members who refused to toe his line to provide him opportunity at his will to bungle the financial resources of the institution. He has created an environment of fear among the facility members and staffers to keep playing his dirty role in the institution.

According to NEWSMAN investigations a number of female employees were forced to seek deputation at other universities. The feedback of articles published in NEWSMAN suggested a string of complaints against Safdar, solidifying his notoriety as a leading character involved in harassment of female employees of the institution.

NEWSMAN had off the record interviews of the harassment victims which revealed Safdar’s previous suspension and his involvement in a departmental inquiry. Despite having criminal record, Adeel managed to secure a position in the marketing department of NFC through illicit means. Now, with the separation of NFC IEFR from NFC, Safdar has returned to his former haunt, ready to wreak havoc on the institute once again.

Shocking revelations indicate that a staggering 43 individuals paid between 500,000 to 800,000 Pakistani rupees each in the name of the Federal Minister to secure their appointments. It remains unclear whether the Federal Minister was aware of these transactions, it highlights the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.

It is equally concerning that despite the institute operating at a loss, new appointments have been made while the existing staff members have not received their yearly salary increments for several years. The mismanagement and lack of financial discipline raise serious questions about the priorities of the administration and their commitment to the welfare of the institute.

The current state of NFC IEFR demands swift and decisive action from the authorities to salvage the reputation and future of this prestigious institution. Steps must be taken to investigate the criminal activities of the syndicate and hold those responsible accountable. Additionally, the immediate suspension of Adeel Safdar, Dr. Najaf Ali, and Shabeeb Ahmed is crucial to ensure the preservation of NFC IEFR’s integrity.

The concerned authorities must look into the issue to rectify this dire situation promptly. It is only through their intervention that NFC IEFR can be restored to its former glory and continue to serve as a beacon of education and progress in the region. The students and faculty members deserve an environment free from corruption and harassment, where merit and dedication are valued above all else.

It is essential that a comprehensive audit to be conducted to assess the financial irregularities within the institution. The mismanagement of funds and the lack of salary increments for the staff members raise serious concerns about the institution’s financial integrity. To restore the confidence of the public in the institution the findings of the audit should be made public. It will ensure transparency and accountability in the handling of NFC IEFR’s resources.

In addition to internal investigations, it is imperative that external oversight bodies, such as the Punjab Police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), actively participate in the probe. Their expertise and impartiality will help shed light on the intricate workings of the criminal syndicate and ensure that justice is served.

Steps must be taken to establish a stringent and transparent recruitment process within NFC IEFR. This will prevent the recurrence of illicit appointments and bribery, safeguarding the institution from further corruption. The involvement of reputable educational bodies and organizations can aid in restructuring the recruitment system, guaranteeing the selection of qualified individuals based on merit and competency.

The government should prioritize the restoration and revitalization of NFC IEFR. Adequate resources and support should be allocated to uplift the institute’s infrastructure, enhance educational programs, and attract renowned faculty members. By investing in NFC IEFR’s development, the government can reinforce its commitment to providing quality education and fostering academic excellence in the country.

It is the responsibility of the authorities to act swiftly and decisively in addressing the issues plaguing NFC IEFR.

NFC IEFR has the potential to be a symbol of progress and knowledge. With the right interventions and a commitment to transparency and accountability, it can rise above the current challenges and regain its position as a premier educational institution, empowering future generations and contributing to the nation’s development.
