FEROZEWALA: The Community Support Concern (CSC) has organized a successful Women Worker Product Promotion exhibition in the village of Bado of District Sheikhupura on Wednesday.
This annual activity was aimed at enhancing market access for women entrepreneurs. This initiative supports women from marginalized rural and slum areas of Tehsil Ferozewala and Sharqpur, providing them with vital opportunities to connect with buyers and traders.
The exhibition showcased the talents of 40 women entrepreneurs who participated in a skill enhancement training program conducted by CSC, which has seen over 300 women benefit since its inception. The event marked a significant step in empowering these women by helping them exhibit their handmade products to a broader audience.
Tahir Bhatti, a prominent social worker, inaugurated the ceremony, commending CSC for its efforts to elevate the socio-economic status of women in the community. “This initiative not only promotes local craftsmanship but also empowers women to take charge of their economic futures,” he remarked.
Mrs. Shaista, the Chief Executive Officer of CSC, expressed gratitude to the community for their active participation.
She emphasized CSC’s commitment to sustainable development, social justice, and peace, stating, “Women are equal partners in political, economic, and social decision-making, and our goal is to ensure their voices are heard.”
Since its establishment in 1989, Community Support Concern has been dedicated to community development, women’s empowerment, and poverty reduction. Currently, CSC is implementing a three-year project, “Promotion of Women’s Rights and Capacity Development,” in collaboration with Bread for the World, across thirty villages in Tehsil Ferozewala and Sharqpur, District Sheikhupura.
The primary objective of this project is to combat domestic violence against women by raising awareness of women’s rights, providing legal assistance, and enhancing skills to improve their economic standing.
Through initiatives like the product promotion exhibition, CSC continues to foster an environment where women can thrive and contribute to their communities.
