ISLAMABAD; As evacution completes from Afghanistan, Taliban has taken over control of Kabul airport.
According to Afghan media, Taliban troops marced into Kabul airport after taking over its control on August 31, 2021 .
With evacuation of the last US soldier from Kabul, as confirmed by Pentagon on Tuesday, Afghanistan became free of foreign forces and became an independent country after 20 years of deadly war.
Pentagon confirmed in its press briefing on Tuesday that US last marine has left Kabul and as deadline of August 31, 2021 for evacuation expires, US withdrawal from Afghanistan has completed.
Other US allies including United Kingdom (UK) had already completed withdrawal of their troops from Afghanistan.
Pakistan had played a key role in completion of evacuation of foreign troops from Kabul before the expiry of the deadline set by Taliban.
Taliban had set deadline of August 31 , 2021 for evacuation of foreign troops from Afghanistan.
US had envaded Afghanistan in 2001 to chase down what Washington had claimed “The most wanted man” ( Osama Bin Laden), following 9/11 terrorists attack on twin towers in New York, USA. Since happening of 9/11, US was following a policy of hot pursuit to attack any individual or country it persumed could had a role in New York attack of 2001.
After 20 years of its history of hot pursuit, US finally ended ‘up its policy of hot pursuit by fleeing from Afghanistan.. US administration is calling its abrupt withdrawal from Afghanistan the best and timely move for pulling its troops from Afghanistan, but international media including many US -based media outlets are calling abrupt and unconditional withdrawal from Afghanistan an unprecedented defeat of US in its histrory.
Every nation and country can interpret withdrawal of US and its allies as it suits them but one thing is beyond any doubt that Taliban has defeated US and other world super powers to claim undisputed victory in decades old war in Afghanistan.
