Islamabad (Newsman): Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that strict measures should be taken to eliminate cartelization from various economic sectors and markets.
Muhammad Aurangzeb attended the Competition Commission as the Finance Minister. During this visit, he was briefed on the Commission’s performance.
Speaking on this occasion, Muhammad Aurangzeb said that he would request the Chief Justice to form a special bench in the Supreme Court on cases related to competition, in which the government’s revenue is present, and the Supreme Court should assist in those cases.
He said that as Justice Yahya helped in the tax-related cases, he would also assist in the competition cases, the competition commission should hire the best lawyers in the country to follow the cases.

According to the federal minister, the government would help the Competition Commission eliminate cartelization, monitor the markets using contemporary methods and data, and analyze and track market data to identify cartels and enter the market. As soon as possible, finish the ongoing investigations against the gang.
He stated that he would discuss early forensics of evidence gathered against the cartel with the DGFIA so better outcomes can be achieved by coordination of all law enforcement and regulatory institutions.
Mohammad Aurangzeb said that the government will provide all kinds of support to the commission for transparency and a competitive environment in the markets.
Automation should be done to set up the competition commission on a strong basis, research reports of various fields of competition should be done by government institutions.

“The Competition Commission performs much better, but the commission is more active,” he continued, “and the policy is clear that the government will not be involved in the businesses that are to be done by the private sector.”
