ISLAMABAD: Law minister, Faroogh Nasim, on Friday announced to hold a fresh census in Sindh and Balochistan to address the grievances of these two provinces.
The minister said the government will use modern technology for a fresh census in Sindh and Balochistan. Sindh and Balochistan had rejected the last census held in 2018 and wanted a fresh census in these two provinces.
Faroogh Nasim hit the opposition parliamentarian hard for opposing legislation on Indian spy, Kalbushan Yadev, and termed them as enemy to the state.
”I cannot understand as to why the opposition goes to criticize the law made regarding Indian spy, Kalbushan, on the floor of the house after agreeing to it in the chamber of the speaker”, Faroogh Nasim wondered.
He said “ Those who oppose the bill regarding Kalbushan even after reading the bills either lack to understand what is written in the bill or they do not want to protect the national interest”.
“Kalbushan’s case is highly sensitive issue which needs deep and serious understanding and when you (Opposition) oppose it on the floor is nothing except to overlook the national interest in the matter”, Faroogh asserted.
The Law minister was when reminded of his harsh words to criticize the opposition on the legislation done recently by the parliament said it is not my purpose to undermine any member of the parliament all what he wanted to say was that the opposition should show serious behavior while talking on the issues of national importance such as Kalbushan.
The minister was holding a press conference here with Ms Maleeka, parliamentary secretary for Law and Justice, to apprise the masses on the significance of the legislation made by the government in joint session of the parliament on November 17, 2021. The government had managed to clear 33 bills in the joint session.
The Law minister said the government made laws in joint session which benefit the entire nation and not some individuals. He told a questioner that it was the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold the next elections as per the law. His reference was regarding the use of electronic voting machine (EVM) in the next elections.
