Govt-TLP agreement ends-up violent march

LAHORE: After series of talks, government and Tehreek- e -Pakistan (TLP) finally reached an agreement on Sunday to end -up violent march of the latter destined on Islamabad,
The government team was led by Religious minister, Noorul Haq Qadri, in final round of talks with TLP. Other members of the government negotiation team were Foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and state minister, Ali Mohammad Khan .

Mufti Munibur Rehman brokered the deal with the government side on behalf of TLP.

Both hawkish ministers, Information minister, Fawad Hussain Chaudhary and Interior minister, Shaikh Rashid Ahmad, were not in the seen in the decisive round of talks with TLP.
Prime minister, Imran Khan, had kept Fawad Hussain Chaudhary and Shaikh Rashid Ahmid out of final round of parleys with TLP after their provoking behaviour in the first two rounds.
The details of the agreement that appeared in the local electronic media suggested the banned outlet announced to call- off its march on Islamabad after reaching to the agreement with the government. According to the media reports, the banned outlet will clear the Grand Trunk road GT Road in next 24 hours and it will not demonstrate any such march on Islamabad in the future. In return, the government agreed to reconsider its decision of banning TLP. Regarding release of detainees including Saad Rizvi, the matter will be decided by the courts. However, the government will not take action or register any new case against TLP workers. TLP will in return ensure returning of its workers to their homes peacefully..
TLP’s end to its march will bring great relief to the people living close to GT Road, in particular, and other Pakistanis in general.
TLP’s violent protest has damaged Pakistan in a big way. It had brought businesses to a stand still, besides pushing the country into haunting uncertainity for the last two weeks.
