Iqbal played a central role in the intellectual movement that ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan. His early education took place at Sialkot Mission School and Government College Lahore, where he completed his degrees in Arts and Philosophy.

Later, he served as a lecturer in history, philosophy, and English at Lahore’s Oriental College.

Through his poetry and philosophy, Iqbal inspired the Muslim community of the subcontinent, particularly its youth, to seek independence from British colonial rule and demand a separate homeland for Muslims.

His vision for a Muslim-majority state was a driving force behind the creation of Pakistan, though Iqbal passed away in 1938, before he could witness the realization of his dream.

Iqbal Day is celebrated annually across Pakistan to honor Iqbal’s enduring contributions to the country’s cultural, intellectual, and national identity. His ideas continue to resonate with Pakistanis, fostering unity and national pride.
