*Killed but why?*!!

Professor Dr. Bashir Ahmed,( English Department), Islamia College Peshawar, is reportedly shot dead by the guard of the same institution where he was detailed to protect the lives of the staff as well as of the students.

This incident is a question mark on the administration of the Islamia College Peshawar, where a guard with zero tolerance and emotional intelligence was detailed on such sensitive duty where public dealing was order of the day and he was never expected for such a violent reaction against his own staff even if he was justified being provoked and had to react in a fit of rage.

I wonder what Kashif Kakhsar a student of the Pushto department, who always challenged both the writ of the administration and ridiculed the staff calling then Chachas ( redundant uncles) by posting his funny videos will react to this Lawlessness after the guard got the guts to shot a Professor that must have sent shock waves amongst the entire academia and academicians across Pakistan.

I am sure if it is the Professor today tomorrow it could be the students who realise little how important discipline is to any institution.

This incident of a shooting by a guard of a respectable professor right on the campus is beginning of a series of such incidents. This particular incident needs to be seriously examined by the state and its functionaries, who live in a fool’s paradise of thinking it was someone else.

It is high time they realise that they live in the same society that they turned into such a lawless state due to their own selfishness of living only for themselves and their families, inflicting both economic and social miseries on others leaving them to kill each other on such petty excuses.

I wonder if the root cause of this tragic incident has it origin traced to the ongoing economic turmoil that left many mouths without bread with so many others trying to keep their heads above the ever rising tide of circular debt that the state incurred in their name of welfare for its citizens leaving them either to kill or get killed in desperation.
