MET department warns of flash flooding in KPK in 48 hours

Issues Red Alert for taking precautionary measures

ISLAMABAD : April 2,2023: The MET Department on April 2,2023 issued a red alert for flash flooding in Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) in next 48 hours. A handout issued by the MET Department on Sunday said heavy rains may cause Flash Floods in Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Nowshera, Waziristan, Bajur, Kurram, Kashmir on Monday and Tuesday during the forecast period.

It added that landslides may occur in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree and Galliyat during the forecast period.
Tourists are advised to remain more cautious during the forecast period.
Note: All concerned authorities are advised to remain “ALERT” to avoid any untoward situation during the forecast period.
