LAHORE: Nadeem Afzal Chan,. a vibrant political figure from central Punjab announced to rejoin Pakistan People Party (PPP) .
Mr Chan announced his decision to rejoin PPP in the long march with PPP chairman. Bilawal Bhutto in Lahore on Sunday. Prior to announce joining the PPP, Mr Chan hosted breakfast for PPP chairman , Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at his residence in Lahore.
Nadeem Afzal Chan had quit PPP and joined the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) in April 2018 and contested the previous elections from NA 88 Sargodha 1, but lost the contest His brother Waseem Afzal Chan also contested for Punjab assembly seat from the home constituency on PTI ticket and won the contest. Elder Chan was appointed by the prime minister as his political advisor. He had resigned as advisor to the prime minister a couple of month ago in protest for not visiting the prime minister the protest of families of Mach victims in Balochistan. .
Chan family’s rejoining may give a big boost to PPP in Punjab. Chan’s rejoining may allure many other political heavy weights to join the PPP. It’s also an indication for those who understand the game of politics seriously where Pakistan’s political is heading to in coming weeks .
