Islamabad : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his address to the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security that Pakistan stands at a decisive juncture today and the institutions are thwarting the intentions of the enemy elements and we appreciate the bravery of the law enforcers.
Shehbaz Sharif read out the statement of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security in which he said that the committee has condemned the incidents of terrorism and expressed deep solidarity with the affected families, while the committee expressed regret over the non-participation of some members of the opposition.
He said that the committee stressed on political consensus to combat terrorism with the full might of the state, while the committee reiterated that the process of consultation in this regard will continue in the future. The Prime Minister said that terrorism has become a scourge for the country, we will find a solution to the problem of terrorism here, we will chase and eliminate the last terrorist until he is found.
The Prime Minister further said that we will cleanse the country from the scourge of terrorism, we cannot forget the sacrifices of the martyrs, he also paid tribute to the security personnel who sacrificed their lives for the country. The Prime Minister termed the opposition’s non-participation in an important national meeting as regrettable and frivolous behavior. The Prime Minister said that the opposition’s non-participation in the meeting is tantamount to turning away from national responsibilities, which are the sacred trust of the nation, everyone should move forward unitedly against terrorism. The Prime Minister said that the families of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the safety of the country are looking at us, the Prime Minister mentioned the immortal sacrifices of hundreds of important personalities including Benazir Bhutto, the Bilour family and Mufti Naeemi in the war against terrorism.
The Prime Minister said that after the Army Public School tragedy in December 2014, my leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif united the entire nation and the entire nation together uprooted the scourge of terrorism. The Prime Minister said that the Pakistani army, law enforcement agencies, security agencies, politicians, and Pakistani citizens have made a story of eternal sacrifices, while the Pakistani economy has suffered a loss of more than $150 billion in the war on terror over the past two decades. Thanks to these sacrifices, peace has been restored in Pakistan, the economy has recovered, and the country’s splendor has been restored.
The Prime Minister said that the incompetent government formed in 2018 has wasted the fruits of the war on terrorism and stopped the implementation of the National Action Plan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the army and the people are one, the conspiracy to create a rift between them has not succeeded in the past and will not succeed in the future. The evil efforts of such evil elements will never succeed. The achievement of Pakistan was possible after millions of sacrifices of our ancestors, we will never let their sacrifices go in vain.
No agenda, movement and personality beyond national security, Army Chief General Asim Munir
In his briefing to the committee Army Chief General Asim Munir (COAS) said that there is no agenda, movement and personality beyond the security of the country, while for sustainable stability all elements of national power have to work in harmony.
Addressing the National Security Parliamentary Committee, the chief of the Pakistan Army emphasized that better governance and the state of Pakistan need to be made a hard estate.
He said how long will he continue to sacrifice his lives in the style of a soft estate, how long will the governance space continue to fill the blood of Pakistan and the martyrs of Pakistan and the martyrs?
The Army Chief said that if this is the country, we are, so there is nothing more for us than the security of the country. For the protection of Pakistan, one has to adopt a statement beyond our political and personal interests.
General Asim Munir said that those who think that they can weaken Pakistan through these terrorists, today gives them the message that we will unite not only to them but also all their facilitators.
The Army Chief said that there is no agenda, movement and personality beyond the security of the country, while for sustainable stability all the elements of national power have to work in harmony, it is a war of survival between us and the coming generations.
The Army Chief added that we have full trust in Allaah. Whatever happens, we will succeed.
