ISLAMABAD: The Imran Khan government is going to reopen schools from the current month.
The interprovincial committee headed by federal minister, Shafqat Mahmood , decided to reopen the school in phases.
The ministers for Education of the provinces attended the meeting, besides senior officials of the concerned ministries.
The educational institutions will open in phases.
In the first phase, the school from 9 to 12 grades will open from January 18, 2021.
The schools from grade 1 to 8 will open from February 1, 2021.
Shafqat Mahmood told the media after the meeting here that Pakistan is going to reopen schools in phases and all private and public schools will strictly follow the announced schedule to avoid any confusion.
The private schools association was pressurising the authorities to reooen schools from January 25, 2021.
Pakistan is reopening the schools in winter when many countries are opting for closure of their schools .
Accordimg to the Shafqat Mahmood, higher educational institutions will also reopen from February 1, 2021.
