Lahore : July 1,2024 : From July 1, an 18% sales tax (GST) has been imposed on herbal, homeopathic, and nutritional products, as well as baby formula.
The pharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals are protesting this decision, calling it “cruel” and “oppressive”.
They argue that this tax will increase the prices of medicines, making them unaffordable for the masses, and will lead to a significant increase in the cost of healthcare.
The industry is calling for a boycott of the tax and demanding its withdrawal.
– The organization’s president, Noor Mahar, has condemned the government’s decision, stating that it will harm the public and increase mortality rates.
