LAHORE: Rameez Raja, Pakistan’s renouned cricketer and a prominent commentator of international cricket , had a meeting with prime minister, Imran Khan, at prime minister house on Monday.
During the meeting, the prime minister conveyed to Rameez Raja his decision to appoint him as new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.
Rameez Raja is a life long friend of Imran Khan and both are fast friends. Imran Khan as cricketer played hundreds of matches with Rameez Raja for Pakistan. Rameez Raja was also a key batsman of Pakistan cricket team which won the world championship in 1992 when Imran Khan was the captain of the national team.
After prime minister’s nod, Rameez Raja’s recommendation for appointment as PCB chairman will be fowarded to its board of directors.
The prime minister also had a meeting with incumbent PCB chairman, Ihsan Mani, to convey him his decision of appointing Rameez Raja as his successor.
