ISLAMABAD: Sharply contradicting Moeed Yousaf , his national security advisor (NSA) , here on Thursday, prime minister, Imran Khan, said he was not waiting for any call from US president, Jeo Biden, as it was not his business.
Imran Khan said ” I keep hearing that the prime minister was waiting for the call of US president which was their (US) business not mine”.
Imran Khan’s categorical contradiction has ruled out the perception that Pakistan was perhaps looking towards Biden administration on every important global issue. It also clarified that NSA advisor lacked proper briefing on many important issues, which were to figure during his sojourn to the US .
Moeed Yousaf had visited Washington some three weeks ago to explain Pakistan ‘s position to Biden administration on post US withdrawal Afghan situation.
The NSA had told international media in his interaction during stay in Washington that the US president ought have spoken to prime minister , Imran Khan, to have some solid workable strategy to avoid civil war in that country.
He had said ” I wonder as to why Mr Biden was not calling to prime minister, Imran khan , for finding out a workable and durable solution to the Afghan issue”.
Imran Khan also reiterated that Pakistan will not allow any othee country to have airbases for attacking in Afghanistan.
He had told local media that US had requested Pakistan to allow to use its airbases for conducting aerial attacks on Afghanistan in post withdrawal days.
Pakistan which had paid heavy price for the same facility in the past had told the Biden administration that it can not be a party in any form and shape to the war on Afghanistan and hence the qustion of giving airbases to use its soil against Kabul or any other country does not exist.
Imran Khan had reiteriated Pakistan’s position on the issue publically. His political opponents either in ignorance or on purpose chid Imran Khan on his assertion on this highly 8mportant issue.
