Islamabad : December 9, 2025, The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council PM&DC has officially launched the National Inspector Pilot Training with an ambitious initiative designed to modernize and standardize the inspection and accreditation processes of medical and dental institutions across the country. This pilot program will enhance regulatory efficiency, integrating digital inspection technologies. It will build a highly trained national pool of inspectors equipped to ensure quality, transparency, and compliance in medical and dental education.
The training session was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj President PM&DC, who said in his opening remarks that the three-day training is a momentous step toward strengthening inspection standards od medical dental colleges and advancing digital transformation in the national accreditation process.

He further appreciated the efforts and valuable guidance of the Federal Minister for Health, NHSR&C, Syed Mustafa Kamal, acknowledging his supportive and forward-looking role in the uplift and strengthening of PM&DC. He said that the Minister’s consistent cooperation, timely direction, and active facilitation have enabled PM&DC to execute key initiatives with greater efficiency and enabling an environment in which regulatory bodies can operate with autonomy, clarity, and purpose, ultimately benefiting medical and dental education across the country.

The program brought together master trainers and inspectors from across the country for hands-on learning, including demonstrations of Digit-Inspect, Pakistan’s first digital inspection platform, and an overview of the updated Inspector Guide.
The training will be successfully completed, with its key objective i.e, preparation of Master Trainers who will from now on lead further capacity-building sessions across their respective provinces and regions. The program includes regional rollout planning through today’s certified experts, and the pilot testing of Digi-Inspect Pakistan’s first digital inspection system for medical and dental institutions. This training program also covers the initial implementation and feedback collection for Proforma Proforma 350, along with the review, validation, and finalization of the updated Inspector Guide. Overall, the training will strengthen inspection quality and uniformity through technology-enabled processes.

A total of 60 participants from across Pakistan has taken part in this training. Representation spans from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ICT, and Armed Forces, ensuring national-level inclusivity and harmonization.
Today the first day event features focus discussions, digital system briefings, and hands-on familiarization with the updated inspection proformas and guidelines. Participants were organized into 10 multidisciplinary teams comprising experts from Basic Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Medical Education, Biomedical Engineering, Hospital Management, and Civil Engineering/Architecture.

On Day 2, these training teams will conduct field-based digital mock inspections across ten medical and dental colleges, where they will apply PM&DC’s standardized tools, use the Digi-Inspect system in real time, and test digital Proformas 350 in actual institutional environments. This phase will also allow teams to validate logistics, transport arrangements, and coordination while identifying operational challenges and assessing on-ground compliance.
The training will be supervised by ten (10) experienced facilitators for the training activities. This training program has included visits to medical and dental colleges, where participants will conduct digital mock inspections using tablets and Digi-Inspect software, receive hands-on training in using the digital proformas, carry out pre- and post-hoc analyses through the digital system, troubleshoot and address any technical issues during implementation, this pilot phase will provide critical insights for improving real-time reporting, transparency, and decision-making in future accreditation cycles.
Day 3 will conclude the program with the consolidation of inspection findings, alignment on scoring standards, evaluation of participant learning, and comprehensive feedback collection to refine digital tools and processes. The outcomes of the three days collectively contributed to finalizing recommendations for the nationwide rollout of the digital inspection system.

Further training will be conducted across multiple regions after this training by the trainers, who will arrange further training, engaging facilitators and participants in Karachi, KPK, Lahore, Balochistan, ICT/Rawalpindi, Armed Forces.
