ISLAMABAD : Interior minister , Rana Sanaullah, has apologised to the public for inconvenience it faced for arrangements made by the government to block Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) long march on Islamabad on May 25, 2022.
Briefing the media on PTI long march, Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said the people of all provinces including Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan rejected PTI chairman , Imran Khan’s call for long march on Islamabad for which he was thankful to every citizen of Pakistan . He said in Lahore a few dozens people came out on the roads who turned back to their homes after having short scuffles with the police at different places of the city . Likewise , he added, in some other cities of Punjab and Sindh a few groups of small people came out on the roads and the police stopped them from proceeding to Islamabad . The Interior minister said the government has made foolproof security arrangements to thin out the marchers coming towards Islamabad with Imran Khan from Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (PKP). Rana Sanaullah said ” Imran Khan’s flood of the people to march on Islamabad has simply turned into a tiny gathering and we feel embarrassed for making massive arrangements to ick it, keeping in view Imran Khan’s claims of bringing 2 to 3 million in Islamabad for long march”.
He advised Imran Khan to show some shame after public’s poor response for Islamabad march and announce to call off his today’s flopped show . The Interior minister said the PTI government destroyed Pakistan ‘s economy in its around four years rule and now after losing the government Imran Khan targeted Pakistan’s state institutions . Rana Sanaullah said the government was fully aware of actual designs of PTI chief and will not allow him to attack on the state and its institutions . He said it was a prime responsibility of the government to protect the lives and property of the people of Pakistan from PTI marchers and the coalition government will perform its constitutional duty at any cost .
The Interior minister claimed that the protestors coming from KPK were carrying weapons and they will be dealt accordingly. He said ” We have full arrangements to ‘serve’ the protestors coming from KPK to attack on Islamabad “.
The Interior minister said the government will implement the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) regarding Islamabad long march .
