KARACHI, October 16, 2024: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is gearing up to celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on November 19, 2024.
This event highlights Pakistan’s commitment to recognizing the vital contributions of women in nation-building.
The celebration will be inaugurated by SBP Governor Mr. Jameel Ahmad at the bank’s headquarters in Karachi.
It is expected to gather top officials from banks, non-bank institutions, and women’s associations to honor the significant impact of women entrepreneurs on the economy.
Among the planned activities are recognition awards for high-performing banks that have consistently provided loans to female borrowers, as well as awards for women-led businesses across various categories, celebrating their remarkable achievements in the entrepreneurial sector.
The SBP has announced that the event will include both in-person and virtual activities throughout Pakistan.
Collaborating with commercial banks, the SBP will focus on creating tailored financial products for women-led businesses.
Initiatives will feature workshops, awareness campaigns on SBP SME financing, and mentorship programs aimed at empowering aspiring businesswomen and enhancing their loan eligibility.
WED is a global initiative that acknowledges and supports women who drive innovation, create jobs, and contribute significantly to economic growth.
Despite their crucial role, many women still face obstacles in accessing finance and business opportunities.
The SBP and its partners seek to motivate more women to pursue entrepreneurship and succeed in today’s competitive environment through this event.
