THATHA: Sindh chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, on Sunday said Consus dispute is deepening as other provinces …Balochistan and Khyber Pukhtunkha (KPK) also share their concerns with Sindh over controversial consus held in 2017.
Murad said as Sindh CM he had raised the concern over unrealiatic number of headcount in Karachi in the last consus at a Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting and demanded its ratification, but deplored that Sindh’s concerns have not been addressed by the federal government .
He told mediamen at chehlum of deceased MPA ,Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah Sherazi. that Sindh has decided to take the issue to CCI again.
Murad Ali Shah said the last census shows population of Sindh at 47 million, which was incorrect and claimed actual population of the province was even more than 60 million.
Murad said his government demands fair consus in the country so that all its units get due share in national resources to ensure development in their respective areas.
Sindh CM told another questioner he has sought report from Thatha deputy commissioner to ensure that no one causes loss to local Makki graveyard. He said his government was also trying to sort out the issue of irrigularities in hirimg of teachers in 2012.
The Chief Minister appreciated Ejaz Shah’ s leadership and his services for the people of Thatha.
Sindh assembly speakrr Agha Siraj Durrani, paid rich tribute to the deceased in his address and said Syed Ejaz Shah Shirazi was a great leader of Sindh and he served the people of Sindh in general and the people.of Thatha in particular without any discrimination. He said the services of Syed Ejaz Shah Sherazi will be remembered for ever.
A large number of provincial ministers, members of national and provincial assembly attended the chehlum including Nasir Hussain Shah and offered fateh for the departed soul.
MNA Ayaz Hussain Shah Sherazi thanked all those who offered dua at chehlum for the soul of his deceased father.
