Where is Murad Saeed; why he is not showing-up after motorway incident?

minsters, advisors sending negative message to society

ISLAMABAD: September 10, 2020 wee hours fall like a curse. A lady, mother of three kids, fell victim to a gang of the ‘beasts’ at Lahore-Sialkot motorway.

Her only crime was to travel in Pakistan at mid night. Going out of fuel of her car exposed her to two ‘beasts’ who, according to her video clip, smashed glass windows of her car, dragged her and her kids out  to force them to go to nearby jungle at a gunpoint. She was raped and humiliated for hours in front of her innocent kids.

Before falling to the gang of the ‘beasts’, unfortunate lady called repeatedly to NHA helpline for help, but no one reached out to her even after passing two hours.

Those who have been blessed with daughters can feel the agony of the victim, who had locked herself and kinds in the car to avoid any mishap. The parents can realize the pain and agony through which the victim had undergone when she was dragged by the ‘beasts’ with her innocent for humiliation.

The incident has shocked the entire society which is up in the arms to protest to express solidarity with the victim and demand arrest of the culprits.

However, the public wrath has little moved the PTI government. its  ministers, advisors and top police officers of Punjab police who, instead rising to the occasion, are coming up in the media with flat faces and giving highly objectionable statements like that of CCPO Lahore who, rather than taking swift action to arrest the culprits, wanted that the victim should not have travelled at night via motorway without any mail companion. What a shameful statement of a senior police officer?.

Many federal ministers and advisors have also disappointed the nation by giving highly irresponsible statements. Take Asad Umar, Shahzad Akbar and Fawad Chaudhary for example. They for their support to CCPO Lahore on the issue have gaven highly disappointing message to the public.

If someone from PTI stalwarts is not showing- up and coming ahead to defend their blue-eyed police officer, he is Murad Saeed, the minister for National Highway Authority (NHA).

Basically, Mursad Saeed, as NHA chairman and federal minister, was responsible for providing security at motorways. Can he tell the nation why NHA inaugurated an unmanned Lahore-Sialkot Motorway when it lacked necessary facilities like petrol pumps, rest areas etc? He also needs to answer, why NHA officials did not reach out to the victim when she was pleading them repeatedly for help?

The prime minister seems very busy in other assignments. He, rather than issuing a statement, should also ask his ‘Waseem Akram Plus’ as to who advised him to order his high ‘profile’  ministers and ‘honest’ and ‘competent’ IGP, Inam Ghani, to hold a press conference without arresting the culprits.        .
