ISLAMABAD: October 12, 2022: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan in foreign funding case and directed to the concerned authorities not to arrest him till October 18, 2022.
IHC chief, justice Athar Min Allah, granted protective bail to PTI in the foreign funding case here on Wednesday.
Imran Khan was present before the court when the bench hearing the case granted him protective bail in the foreign funding case. PTI chief appeared before the court in extraordinary security.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had filed a case against PTI chairman , Imran Khan, and 11 other his party leaders. At least three top PTI leaders including Tariq Shafi, Hamid Khan and senator , Saifullah Khan Niazi, have been arrested and they are being investigated by the agency to probe their role in foreign funding case.
PTI is facing serious problems due to foreign funding case and its chief Imran Khan and other key leaders who have been issued notices by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) are fearing their arrest in the case.
Apprehending arrest , PTI chief had moved IHC for seeking protective bail in the case.
Addressing the workers Union on Wednesday, PTI chief said His opponents had done worst than the enemy with Pakistan and demanded that he demands investigation by an independent judicial commission to establish the facts that his government was toppled in the centre with a plan and for the same the corrupt rulers were getting relief in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references and other corruption cases.
In a related development , a trail court in Lahore has reserved judgment on prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif and his son former chief minister , Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz in money laundering case .
