ISLAMABAD: July 15,2023: The government has announced reduction in petrol prices by Rs 9 per liter for next fortnight.
Finance minister Ishaq Dar , announced reduction in petrol prices on Saturday. According to the Finance minister , with reduction of Rs 9 per liter petrol prices for next fortnight (July 16-31),
petrol prices will reduce from Rs 262 to Rs 253.
Likewise, the government has cut down the rates of high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 7 per liter and it will reduce HSD rates to Rs 253.50 from previous rates of Rs 260.50 for two weeks. The prices of kerosin and light speed diesel (LSD) have not been changed this time .
The reduction in petrol and HSD prices is a positive indication for the masses as it will bring relief to the common man. The reduction in petroleum product prices will bring the rates of items of daily use down proportionately. It will also help the government tame biting inflation.
Pakistanis are braving highest ever inflation rate of their 75-year old history. While announcing reduction in petrol and HSD rates, Ishaq Dar in his televised statement said prime minister Shahbaz Sharif, is committed to bring down inflation and give relief to the people.
The Finance minister added that the reduction in the rates of petrol and HSD will not adversely affect Pakistan’s commitment with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as Islamabad had already imposed agreed petroleum levy on petroleum products on July 1,2023.
The Finance minister added that the rupee has made handsome gain against US dollar in the last 15 days.
