Lahore : Oct 30 : Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned from the post of chief selector of Pakistan cricket team on Monday . Inzamam-ul-Haq confirmed the resignation and said that when the allegations were made and he spoke to the board and told them that if there is any doubt, an inquiry be made.
He said that the board told him that it has formed a 5-member committee,
“if the committee is formed, then by that day I will resign and the committee should complete its investigation and if things are completed, then after that I will sit with PCB ” Inzamam-ul-Haq said. He further said “My role as a selector is that of a judge because I make decisions about all the boys, so if there is a question about me, it is better that I step aside and let the PCB do its enquiry,” .
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on social media website X that the board has appointed a five-member investigative committee to investigate allegations of conflict of interest reported in the media related to the team selection process. has been formed’.
The statement said that the committee will submit its report and recommendations to the PCB management soon. When asked about the allegations, Inzamam-ul-Haq said that it hurts, people say such things without research, whoever has spoken should also give evidence and such things should not happen.
