Islamabad : April 3 ,2024; After Islamabad High Court (IHC), the letters containing injurious power and threatening symbols have been received by the judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP). A day before , IHC judges had received the letters containing similar powder and signs of danger. IHC immediately took its notice and directed to the concerned departments to investigate the matter and submit the report to the court for action. The matter is still unresolved at IHC level and meanwhile the same letters have been sent to those judges of the apex court who are on the larger bench hearing IHC judges ‘ letter disclosing meddling of some agencies in their court work. IHC’s judges letter has created a storm in Pakistan’s judiciary . The letters received by the judges of IHC and SCP have direct link with the letter written by the judges of IHC to SCP claiming of the meddling of the agencies in the court work. It seems that some elements are hurling threat to the judges through the letters for refraining them from investigating the matter. Pakistan does not enjoy good reputation on Judicial front. It has a history of dictated judiciary. This impression is undermining credibility of Pakistan’s higher judiciary. Pakistan’s lower judiciary already falls below a reasonable standard as its badly corruption infected. The meddling of agencies in the judges work seems a lingering issue . However , the judges never raised their voice against it in the past or the judges preferred to stay mum in the past on the issue. However , with daring act of the judges of IHC , the matter has come to the public . Now SCP too looks serious to put an end to this ugly practice. SCP has formed a larger bench which heard the case on Wednesday . However , chief justice , Qazi Faez Isa , hinted at to form a full court to hear the matter. Formation of a full court will address the issue once for all . The court should hold hearing in the case on day to day basis and give a clear verdict that Pakistan ‘s judiciary will not tolerate meddling in its work..
