New York : June 11,2024 : After losing two matches , Pakistan opened up its account in T20 World Cup 24 by defeating Canada by 7 wickets thanks to Mohammad Rizwan”s outstanding and patient batting . He scored 54 runs not out in restricted 20 overs. Saim Ayub maintained his practice of getting out without making any good score. In Tuesday’s match against Canada , he got out when his individual score was just 6 runs. After his dismissal , Babar Azam joined Mohammad Rizwan who was struggling on the other end to play a good innings against Canada to keep Pakistan in T20 tournament. Both Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam played sensible cricket against Canada and took Pakistan ‘s score to 73 when the captain gave his catch in the slip . His individual score was 23 off 23 balls. After Babar Azam ‘s dismissal , Fakhar joined Mohammad Rizwan . He too got out without making any contribution to Pakistan’s score. He scored only 4 runs off 6 balls. Rizwan remained pegged to other side of the wicket. He played a nice inning to secure a much-needed victory for Pakistan to stay in T20 tournament. Early , Canada had set a target of 107 runs for Pakistan. Amir and Harris Rauf remained successful bowlers . They got two wickets each . Amir made exceptional bowling and got 2 wickets for 13 runs only. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Nasim Shah got one wicket each. Amir was declared as a match of the match.
