Govt drops another petrol bomb on masses

Islamabad : The Shahbaz government on Monday dropped another petrol bomb on the inflation-hit masses , making their lives even more miserable. The people of Pakistan are already facing the most difficult times of Pakistan ‘s 77 years history. Shahbaz Sharif’s government has literally crushed the people with repeated increases in power and petrol prices. A vast majority of Pakistanis is unable to pay bills of electricity and gas . Now repeated increases in petrol prices are here to make the lives of Pakistanis more miserable.

An official notification issued by the government on the increase of oil prices said “The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price variations in the international market. The prices of Motor Spirit & HSD for the next fortnight, starting from 16th July, 2024, are accordingly being revised”.

According to an official handout , the prices of petrol has been increased by Rs 9.99 to take its rates from Rs
265.61 to Rs 275.60 per litre. The rates of HSD have been increased by Rs 6.18 to take up its rates from 277.45 to Rs 283.63 a litre.

Kerosene oil prices increased by Rs 1.83 a litre and the rates of Light diesel go up by Rs 0.24 per litre. The new rates of petroleum products will remain effective for 15 days.
