Pakistan’s Food Export Grew by Whooping 22%

Pakistan’s food export in first 4 months of fiscal year, stood at $2.36 billion. Growth in rice exports surged by 52%, surpassing $1 billion, with Basmati rice reporting a remarkable upsurge in demand.

ISLAMABAD (Newsman): Pakistan’s food export sector registered a huge 22 percent growth in the first four months of the current fiscal year, by touching $2.36 billion.

This big growth was driven by a robust performance in commodities of rice, sugar, and vegetable exports, registering a remarkable boost in the country’s agricultural trade for almost the first time in hisotry.

The growth in rice exports surged by over 52%, surpassing $1 billion, with Basmati rice reporting a remarkable upsurge in demand. Sugar exports also saw an extraordinary rise of 413%, bringing around $108 million.

Some food products also experienced a dip. These food commodities registering deline are like dry fruits and fish sectors.

The overall jump in food exports reflects a growing global demand for Pakistani food products, contributing to economic growth.

Better marketing and higher local production with better pricing played a key role in higher exports.
