Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF, arrived in Tehran as part of ongoing mediation efforts.
On arrival, it added, he was received and warmly welcomed by Iranian Minister for Interior Eskandar Momeni. Federal Minister for Interior, Mr Mohsin Naqvi was also present at the reception.
The international media had been hinting at the potential visit of Pakistan’s important leader to Iran for the last couple of days to push the mediation process between Tehran and Washington over the Middle East (ME) war. It, however , was not naming any Pakistan leader in its reports.
Pakistan is pursuing mediation process between the United States (US) and Iran since the very begining of the ME war. Pakistan ‘s political and military leadership have been working closely with the US and Iran and continuously visiting Iran to persuade its leaders to go for peace process to end the ME war. Pakistani leadership is also working closely with other stakeholders like Saudi Arabia, Turkiye , Kuwait , Qatar , .China and many others to play their role in ending the war in the ME.
Pakistan ‘s efforts had worked initially and it succeeded to secure ceasefire in the ME and now its leadership is working hard to help US and Iran strike a deal for permanent peace in the ME.
The international media is claiming of possible deal between Iran and US in a couple of weeks to end the ME conflict permanently.
US -Israel attack on Iran in February last had created a severe financial crisis as supplies of energy and many other essentials are blocked over blockade of the Strait of Hormus.
