“Aik Zardari sub pay bhari”, Can PPP magician turn table on ruling alliance in senate elections?

ISLAMABAD: Although obvious game number does not give any indication of upset in upperhouse contest of March 3, 2021, but backdoor contacts and secret meetimgs of Pakistan People Party (PPP) magician (Asif Zardari) known for his speciality in dealing wheeling and extraordinery level of confidence of former prime minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, speaks of some different story.
If you gi by the number game, the ruling alliance has 177 votes as compared to 156 of the Pakistan Democratic alliance (PDM) and its a big difference of 21 votes.

Perhaps the same calculation was a reason behind show of confidence since announcement of schedule for senate elections, but with each passing day the treasury side is losing its confidence. Rising desperation in its ranks indicates that the ruling alliance is feeling heat of Gilani’s entry in senate contest.

Asif Zardari’s claim that Imran Khan will be no more prime minister after winning of Yousaf Raza Gilani, does make sense. In fact, it has a clear message for IK and his PTI.3

Federal Information minister, Shibli Faraz’s screeming at a press conference here on Februrary 22, 2021, indicates the level of desperation of ruling alliance on Gilani-Shaikh fight for Islamabad seat of senate.

Shiblis utterance that PPP’s magician’s statements appearing in national press wherein he claims of Gilani’s win is an ample proof that PDM was pumping in money to get its candidate (Yousaf Raza Gilani) win the senate election.

In clear terms, the government spokespersons were apprehending defeat of their candidate ( Abdul Hafeez Shaikh) in the contest.

Who will win…Gilani or Shaikh..its time to decide, but one thing is for sure that the ruling alliance is not in a comfortable position on Hafeez Shaikh fight for senate.

Hafeez Shaikh’s technocratic style is also making difficult for the ruling alliance’s bigwig to bag required support for him.

During meetings with Hafeez Shaikh , MNAs of even ruling alliance have been reportedly putting difficult questions to him.
