ISLAMABAD : Pakistan on Thursday formally opened up diplomatic row with Washington on the basis of mysterious letter . Pakistan’s Foreign Office had summoned t US acting deputy chief of mission to Pakistan and protested with him over what prime minister , Imran Khan, is claiming for the last one week for writing a threatening letter to Pakistan . The prime minister was claiming for the last one week or so that an important country has officially threatened Pakistan of dire consequences if no confidence motion remains unsuccessful against prime minister , Imran Khan. Today, the prime minister changed his previous stance and said A country whose name he first mentioned in his address and then posed as if he took the name of US due to slip of tongue . His smile at that particular moment when he said the threatening letter has originated from the US narrated the whole story.
Within hours after the prime minister ‘s address to the nation , Foreign Office sprang into action and it summoned the US acting deputy chief of mission to Foreign Office to protest the use of harsh language by its officials during her meeting with Pakistan,’s envoy to the US.
According to some media reports, , Pakistan protested strongly with US acting deputy chief of mission for interfering in Pakistan ‘s internal affairs .
In a related development , the US State Department formally rejected Pakistan’s allegations listed by Pakistan,’s ambassador to the US in his one of diplomatic cables.
The US State Department in its statement issued on Thursday said it does not interfere in internal affairs of any foreign country and it clearly demonstrated the same policy in the case of Pakistan . It, however , added that the State Department was monitoring the situation in Pakistan .
