And finally PDM stands gone story

ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties had formed Pakistan Demoractic Movement
(PDM) in 2020 with an objective to throw out Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and get new elections done in the country,. It did arranged some shows in different cities across the country that got some reasonable response too, but it did not make any big difference in favour of the opposition.

Instead pushing PTI out of power, PDM stood divided on Tuesday when Pakistan People Party (PPP) supremo and former president, Asif Ali Zardari, categorically conveyed to the opposition that his party was not going to resign from assemblies to meet PDM demand set to launch long march on March 26, 2021.

PPP supremo told PDM meeting held in Islamabad with Maulana Fazal ur Rehman in chair his party (PPP) will not resign from assemblies unless and until Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN ) self-exiled supremo , Nawaz Sharif, returns from United Kingdom to represent his party in the long march.

Mr Zardari recalled his hard times in his address to the PDM meeting and said he spent 12 years in jail in his struggle for democracy and asked PML N supremo to come back home and mobilise masses in Punjab. He also asked Nawaz Sharif to bring Ishaq Dar along to ensure his presence in the Senate.

Asif Zarsari’s tirade shocked PMLN vice president , Maryam Nawaz, who abruptly responded to Asif Ali Zardari’s demand for Nawaz Sharif’s return and announced no one has the right to ask Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan as it could be risk to his life. She said ” If anybody wants to speak to Nawaz Sharif he has to speak to me first”.

Maryam’s worry on Asif Ali Zardari’s speech was imminent when she stood besides Maulana during his press talk .

Tuesday’s hard talk between PMLN and PPP leadership literally destroyed PDM . Its immediate affect was camcellation of long march scheduled for March 26, 2021

Maulana Fazal ur Rehman announced cancellation of long march of March 26, 2021. He made the announcement in his very brief talk with media after PDM meeting. Maulana, who is a sharp and seasoned player for decades, could not hold back his anger at his talk with media. He told the reporters that PPP’s attitude in today’s meeting was undemocratic.

Maulana’s these remarks are enough to feel inside story of PDM meeting. Its also a clear indication that PDM is a gone story now.
