This picture of the school child from Public School Sangota Swat that came under attack by its own police deputed on its security is the lowest level to which a society and its leadership can stoop.
Ask any Swati on the street and they believe a stateless Swat was far better than Swat now under the untrustworthy administration and protection of its own government and its machinery and law enforcers with of them pursuing a different agenda and hence the common Swati suffers .
This incident is the beginning of our society plunging itself in the darkness of ignorance and bigotry and it is the very few in the society from whom when can expect empathy and moral support and one such individual is Azam Khan, the incumbent Chief Minister KPK himself a knowledge lover whom I met at Peshawar during the book launch of Bibi Mubarak, a brave Yousafzai wife of Mughal Emperor Babar.
I demand of the Chief Minister both as a father and Chief Executive to ensure he visit the Public School Sangota Swat and the families of the school children tomorrow as his mark of solidarity with these innocent Yousafzai children from Swat. The least he can do is extend a moral support to these terrified children as well as the school Administration, who are shocked in disbelief and from whom the courage to seek and impart knowledge is being snatched by its own state and its own custodian of law.
Needles to say before departure back for Peshawar, he must sack the entire state machinery as a grim reminder to their incompetence and betrayal of trust of its own citizens if at all the Yousafzai Swat is of slightest importance to him, the way he showed reverence to Bibi Mubaraka and her moral courage .
