Ex-Aviation minister Sarwar Khan, two others arrested from Islamabad in connection with May 9 riots

ISLAMABAD: June 21, 2023:The police on wee hours of Wednesday arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Aviation minister, Sarwar Khan and his two nephews — MNA Mansoor Hayat Khan and MPA Aamir Siddique Khan– in connection with May 9 violent protests.
The Islamabad police has confirmed the arrest of Sarwar Khan and two others PTI ex parliamentarian in connection with May 9 violence. According to the Islamabad Police spokesperson, Sajjadul Haq ,a joint team of Islamabad and Rawalpindi police raided in the federal capital to arrest Sarwar Khan and two other PTI parliamentarian who were wanted in connection with May 9 violence.

The police were on foot to arrest Sarwar Khan and his two other Khan– for weeks but they were dodging the raiding teams to avoid arrests.
According to Islamabad police spokesperson, Sarwar Khan and other arrested on Wednesday in connection with May 9 protests have been shifted to Taxila for further procedure and investigation.

Sarwar Khan is a close political aide to PTI chairman Imran Khan and as Aviation minister he had issued a controversial statement on the floor of the parliament probably on the advice of Imran Khan which led to financial devastation of Pakistan’s premier airline –PIA.

Referring the statement of Sarwar Khan as Aviation minister, PIA was blacklisted world over and its operations with suspended by all those global destinations which were major source of its income. PIA is still facing brunt of Sarwar Khan;s cunning statement and it has already lost
Sarwar Khan must be interrogated in PIA controversial statement case to establish on whose behalf he as Aviation minister gave the most un- reasonable statement that caused Pakistan huge financial loss, besides devastation of its entire aviation industry.
