ISLAMABAD : Nov 5,2022: Senator Azam Swati burst in tears at a presser while narrating ordeal being faced by him and his family for his errant behaviour in politics .
He in tears told media persons at the presser that his wife has been sent an objectionable video of his with her .
While crying with pain that he bore for his and wife’s humiliation , Azam Swati said last night at around 9 pm he received a phone call from his wife from Islamabad shouting and crying and she could not utter even a few words due to shock and agony from which she was going at the moment. Mr Swati said as his wife could not speak to him due to shock and pain he immediately asked his daughter to check what was the matter with his wife. The senator added that his daughter told him that his wife was sent a video through some unknown number showing him with wife in private moment. While narrating his ordeal , Azam Swati could not withheld his emotions and burst into tears . After recollecting himself , Mr Swati added the video sent to his wife was filmed during his stay at Supreme Court judicial complex in Quetta when he visited there as a senator on the invitation of chairman Sadiq Sanjrani . He bewailed and said my God was Pakistan made for this.
Mr Swati, who is on bail in a case of contentious tweet since October last , last his control over emotion and cried bitterly.
He said his wife , daughter and granddaughter have left Pakistan for some safe place.
He said since mothers and daughters of Pakistan were listening to his ordeal he can not speak more on his ordeal .
Azam Swati had been very critical to powerful quarters for quite sometimes and his tweet that resulted in his arrest last month was a part of his hard-line politics .
Azam Swati had accused of tortured naked in custody and vowed to expose those who were involved in his custodial torture.
Azam Swati who is a forme federal minister and a confident of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) had claimed at a press conference that he could not be forced to remain mum over injustice caused to PTI top leader as his videos were not available to blackmail him.
However , in Saturday’s presser Mr Swati concealed that he was wrong in his judgment about his blackmailing.
Azam Swati’s ordeal has sent a shocking message to the masses.
PTI chairman , Imran Khan, rushed to tweeter soon after Azam Swati::’s presser , to condemn sheer violation of his and his wife’s privacy . He said no one can even think of such humiliation to a 75 years old senior politician and his :Ibadat gozar’ spouse . He demanded of the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo moto in Azam Swati’s case. PTI chief also apologised to Mrs Azam Swati for pain and shock she and her family underwent after violation of their personal relationship of wife and husband.
Pakistani across the board denounced the humiliation caused to Azam Swati and his family and demanded high level investigations into the case.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir and Mazhar Abbas condemned the violation of personal family life of Azam Swati and called upon the political and non political segments to denounce such happenings .
FIA claims Azam Swati’s video was doctored and released to humiliate him
Hours after Azam Swati’s press conference , Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)issued a press release here wherein it claimed that the objectionable video was found to be fake in forensic test. It claimed that the video was shopped to make it look like a real.
According to the FIA , the purpose of Azam Swati’s video with his wife seemed making him humiliated.
NEWSMAN strongly believes Azam Swati:s video case was extremely painful and it should be denounced by every segment of the society .
Since it is a serious case top court should take suo moto on it to fix all those who were involved in it.
