Bangladesh wins Rawalpindi test as Pakistan’s batting line collapses in second inning

Pakistan 's captain responsible of defeat. Mehidy Hasan , Shakib ul Hasan play key role to bag win for Bangladesh

Rawalpindi : August 25,2024 : Pakistan has lost the first test in Rawalpindi to Bangladesh here on fifth and final day of the match. Pakistan’s caption Shaan Masood’s shortsighted decision to declare the first inning when host team’s score was 448 for six proved ‘ horrifying’ and it finally resulted in Pakistan’s defeat against Bangladesh . Shaan Masood ‘s decision to declare the first inning when Pakistan ‘s score was 446 for 6 is under criticism. It deprived M. Rizwan of his double century and in the end caused Pakistan the test defeat from Bangladesh. Bangladesh out performed Pakistan in both –batting and bowling . The sole responsibility of losing test match to Bangladesh lies on Shaan Masood . As captain his behaviour with team mates has also been a big question mark. He , according to some media reports , shouted at his team members in the dressing room. Pakistan’s entire team with an exception of M. Rizwan remained non-starter in the second inning . M. Rizwan was the only batter who resisted Bangladesh’s bowlers and made a half century in the second inning. He had scored 171 runs in the first inning and he was going strong when Shaan Masood declared the inning. Other all star batters including Babar Azam failed to make any score . Pakistan ‘s super star ,Babar Azam, could not stay on the crease in both innings. The same was the story of other Pakistani batters. Saim Ayub, who showed good performance in the first inning, got out for one run in the second inning. Bangladeshi bowlers showed their skill and sent Pakistani bowlers back to the pavilion without much contribution to Pakistan’s total in the second inning . shakib ul Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave great performance with ball. Shakib ul Hasan bowled out three Pakistani batters and Mehidy Hasan Miraz sent four Pakistani bowlers back to the pavilion. These two bowlers played a key role in Bangladesh ‘s win against Pakistan in Rawalpindi test.
