Jeff Bezos is investing money in Figure AI – a company specializing in developing humanoid robotics. Nvidia, Amazon and many other tech giants have funded this startup.
The investment, which OpenAI, Microsoft and other companies support, will aim to raise approximately $675,000,000. This marks a significant milestone in the development of Figure AI, as its pre-money value has reached around $2 billion.
Microsoft will contribute $ 95 million under the leadership of Bezos’s Explore Investments LLC. Bloomberg reported that Nvidia, an Amazon affiliate fund, and a third party are each investing $50 million into this venture.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT, a chatbot introduced in November 2022 to widespread praise, has prompted a surge of investment in the AI startup sector. These investors are looking to capitalize on their potential for these startups to surpass larger competitors in the industry.
Sources say that OpenAI initially considered acquiring Figure but instead decided to invest in it for $5 million. Other notable investors include Intel’s venture capital arm, LG Innotek and Samsung’s investment arm. Parkway Venture Capital, Align Ventures, Parkway Venture Capital, and Align Ventures are also prominent.
ARK Venture Fund and Tamarack have also contributed, according to the report. Figure AI, Nvidia and Microsoft have yet to provide comments. Amazon, Nvidia, and Microsoft are also not responding to comments.
The Figure, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, secured $70 Million from Parkway Venture Capital as part of its last funding round. The Figure, renowned for developing humanoid robotics that can operate in diverse environments while completing various tasks, is now poised to grow with its substantial investment.
