Beleaguered Imran falls back to pacify establishment

Praises army , looks worried over PTI fate

LAHORE : Former prime minister, Imran Khan, has announced that he does not want confrontation as Pakistan was his own country, but insisted he would not accept imported government led by those who were allegedly involved in corruption of Rs 40 billion. He said his party would not accept anything less than fresh elections in the country.
Addressing a big public rally at Minar e Pakistan here, Imran Khan declared , “These three stooges have.been imposed on us through imported government which was unacceptable to the nation” .
He said PTI wants fresh elections and nothing else to decide who would rule in this country.
Imran Khan gave a long speech here with hardly anything new . He repeated every word which he had uttered in his address to the last two rallies held in the last two weeks except praising the army for its role in defending the county . He said ” Alhamadulillah , we have strong army that guarantees defence of Pakistan and foils nefarious designs of the enemy to disintegrate our homeland”.
He said ‘Had Pakistan not had strong army , the enemy would have disintegrated Pakistan in three parts”.
The former prime minister said the fresh elections were only way out for correction of the mistake made by over throwing his government . He repeated the same tale banking on foreign conspiracy to topple his government . Imran Khan also hinted at possible decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan against Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) in foreign funding case and demanded that PTI’s case should be clubbed with PAkistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and then a decision be taken in uni some .
Imran Khan again claimed in his Lahore address that his struggle was for the real freedom and the nation should get ready to march on Islamabad to achieve this goal.
Imran Khan told his followers to wait for his final call to march on Islamabad to force the new government to call fresh elections in the country. Imran Khan announced not to accept any decision of a commission constituted by Shahbaz government to probe lettergate and demanded that Supreme Court should hear the case in the open court to help the nation get an idea who was who in the case. He also lashed out at Chief Election Commissioner and suggested that PMLN should give him a party office .
Former Foreign minister , Shah Mahmood Qureshi in his address claimed that a new conspiracy was in the making in Islamabad to disqualify Imran Khan and erase PTI from the political arena of Pakistan. He warned of serious repercussions in case PTI or it’s leadership was disqualified .
