Chairman PTA visits Bacha Khan Markaz, Senator Aimal Wali Khan accepts traditional jirga

PESHAWAR – Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (Retd) Hafeez ur Rehman, paid a visit to Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar, where he was received by Awami National Party (ANP) Central President and Senator Aimal Wali Khan.

The visit was marked by a traditional jirga (tribal council), which Senator Aimal Wali Khan accepted in accordance with Pashtoon customs. The gesture was seen as an effort to resolve misunderstandings and restore cordial relations.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PTA stated that a recent incident involving him was the result of a misunderstanding. “I had already expressed regret on the day the incident occurred, and today, I have come to Bacha Khan Markaz once again to clear any remaining grievances,” he said.

He emphasized his deep respect for Senator Aimal Wali Khan and his family. “I hold Senator Aimal and his family in the highest regard,” the Chairman added.

In response, Senator Aimal Wali Khan welcomed the PTA Chairman and his delegation to Bacha Khan Markaz, stating, “This center is the home of all oppressed people and Pashtoons. It is here that jirgas are held to uphold our traditions.”

He further noted that, in line with the values of Pashtoon heritage, he accepted the jirga presented by the PTA Chairman.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of dialogue and cultural traditions in resolving disputes and fostering mutual respect.
