China, Pakistan reaffirm relationship of ‘Iron brothers’

ISLAMABAD: A statement issued by Chinese foreign ministry on Pakistani foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s 2-day visit to Beijing, reaffirmed that Pakistan and China are two iron brothers and the relationship between them will remain unaffected by any regional or international developments. Shah Mahmood Qureshi had embarked upon a 2- day visit to China on August 19. During his visit to Beijing , Pakistan’s foreign minister had extremely important discussion with his Chinese counterpart on all issues of bilateral interest , besides evaluating developments taking place at regional and international level. The two sides, as per the statement of Chinese Foreign ministry , had in-depth discussion on all issues ranging from security to defence ties and the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to take Pak-China relationship to the next level . The two sides also discussed the situation arising out of Indian government ‘s aggressive approach against innocent Kashmiris and neighbouring countries. China reaffirmed its unflinching support for just and peaceful solution to the Kasmir dispute. China always stands for just resolution of Kashmir conflict. In recent past, India had challenged China in Ladakh region and got humiliating defeat on this front. Pakistani and Chinese foreign level talks also took stock of the situation arising in the backdrop of Israel- UAE recent ‘peace’ deal. Pakistan’s foreign minister had termed his visit to China extremely important for strategic talks and said he will have threadbare discussion with Chinese leadership on all issues of mutual interest. Shah Mahmood Qureshi also told his viewers in his vedio message given by him before his departure for China that his visit to China will reflect Pakistan’s close relationship with Beijing. The joint statement is a clear message to regional and international players that Pakistan and China have common approach on all important issues and they are committed to take relationship of iron brotherhood to the next level of cooperation.
