CJCSC Meets Azerbaijan Leadership to Discuss Defense Cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is currently on an official visit to Azerbaijan, where he has met with several prominent leaders, including President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Mirza also held discussions with Defence Minister Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Aziz Oghlu Bayramov, 1st Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff Colonel General Karim Tofig Oghlu Valiyev, and Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev.

The ISPR said that both sides recognized the deep-rooted and historic relationship between their countries. They addressed mutual interests, including the changing security dynamics in the region and avenues for enhancing defense cooperation across various sectors.

General Mirza underscored the significance of strengthening military collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, reaffirming their joint commitment to peace and stability.

The Azerbaijani leadership expressed gratitude for the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces and indicated a shared interest in further expanding their cooperation to deepen bilateral ties.
