Islamabad: Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, met with Mr. Mitsuhira Wada, the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, who paid the Minister a visit at the Finance Division today.
In particular, the long-standing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Japan, along with their shared values and viewpoints on regional and global concerns, were among the topics of discussion during the meeting.
After completing his three-year tour of duty in Pakistan, Mr. Mitsuhira Wada remarked on the gradual expansion of bilateral diplomatic and commercial ties between the two nations since their diplomatic relations were established in 1952.

Along with highlighting the positive trajectory of ongoing bilateral ties, he also reaffirmed Japan’s unwavering commitment to supporting Pakistan in areas of mutually agreed priority, including health, education, the environment, water, and governance, as well as the steady promotion of trade and commerce and the growth of cultural, sports, youth, and educational exchanges.
Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed gratitude for the long-standing bilateral collaboration and emphasized the importance of Japan’s economic and developmental support, as well as its critical role in assisting Pakistan in overcoming its economic obstacles and fortifying its economy.
Through greater trade, cultural, educational, and interpersonal interactions, he stated both countries have a great chance to deepen their relationship.

The Ambassador was also briefed by the Minister on the status of the economy and the notable improvement in a number of macroeconomic metrics.
According to him, the administration is committed to pursuing its reform plan since maintaining the macroeconomic stability that has been attained over the past 14 months requires that it not slack off.
