ISLAMABAD, November 15, 2024: A local court in Islamabad on Friday acquitted former federal minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in a case related to his allegations against former President Asif Ali Zardari, accusing him of conspiring to murder former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The verdict, announced by Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood, cleared Ahmed of charges including inciting violence and conspiracy to commit murder.

The case was registered in 2023 after Sheikh Rashid publicly claimed that Zardari had orchestrated a plot to kill Imran Khan, which led to his legal troubles.
In his acquittal plea, Ahmed had argued that the charges against him were politically motivated. The court’s decision now brings an end to the legal battle over the controversial allegations.
