Court rejects plea for more physical remand of Azam Swati

ISLAMABAD: October 17,2022: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday turned down a request of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to further extend physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (FIA) leader senator, Azam Khan Swati, in controversial tweet case accusing army chief , Qamar Javed Bajwa and others of facilitating the culprits involved in corruption and money laundering .

The IHC ordered to send the accused to jail on judicial remand.

Azam Khan Swati is facing a case for srcasting army chief , Qamar Javed Bajwa , and ‘Others’ saying their plan to free the corrupt was working well to their plan .

Azam Khan Swati is in custody of FIA for the last five days and being investigated for his controversial tweet.

The prosecutor on Monday informed the court that the accused was needed to the Islamabad police to recover the mobile he used for the objectionable tweet

The lawyers for Azam Khan Swati opposed further physical remand of his client .

The court after hearing the arguments of both parties turned down the FIA request for further physical remand of Azam Khan Swati and ordered to send him to jail on judicial remand .
