CPR demands immediate implementation of IHC decision on police order 2002

ISLAMABAD: Feb 18,2023: The Council for Police Reforms CPRs) in its special session held today here demanded immediate implementation of Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision of th Police Order 2002.

The session appreciated and welcomed the Landmark Islamabad High Court decision and declared it according to the democratic aspirations of the people and the police order 2002 as a Public – Centric law.

In the session, it was resolved that Police Order 2002 must be implemented in its true letter and spirit immediately within the mandated time of one month.

This law, when implemented, would curb interference in police working and help in ensuring independent police investigations.

The president of Council for Police Reforms (CPR), Sajid Iqbal Gujjar, made a fervent appeal that immediate steps be taken to establish Islamabad Public Safety Commission and Complaint Authority so that public grievances are addressed.
