Dhabeji: locals resist evacuation move, revenue, survey teams retreat

THATHA: The locals of around 40 villages of Dhabeji and surrounding areas foiled an attempt of Revenue and Survey department calling it a conspiracy of evacuation from their villages.
The locals called the move of the Revenue and Survey department an attempt to grab their lands and make them homeless in the name of demarcation of the area.
In Sindh, different departments such as Revenue and Survey departments have used demarcation for facilitating Bahria Town and some other town planners to buy lands from the owners at throw away prices.
The representatives of different villages including Mian Khan, Allah Dano Baloch and Shahnawaz Baloch, spoke to the teams of Revenue and Survey and convince them that the government should not create unrest in the area by sending different teams for demarcation. The locals appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of Sindh government’s action for evacuation of the local residents who are living these goths (villages) for centuries.

After fearing tough resistance from the villagers, the teams of Revenue and Survey teams went back without completing their demarcation work.
